In order to keep a church running, it takes a whole congregation! Also, we have a few people on the church's payroll who help keep the wheels turning.
Pr. Ken Reinoehl
Ken Reinoehl was born into Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon. He had early aspirations for the ministry, and even attended Capitol University for one semester when he realized he did not know how to study. Pr. Ken was drafted into the Army for three years including one year in Vietnam. Instead of going back to college, he got married to Karen Drage. After their daughter was married, they moved to Waynesburg with both of their children. Ten years ago, Karen lost a battle with cancer. It was during her battle that his name was added to the Pulpit Supply list, and he began filling pulpits in 2007. In 2010 Pr. Ken met his current wife, Ruth. They live in North Canton in a house they have mostly remodeled. Pr. Ken is honored that God has blessed him with the opportunity to be able to serve Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Pr. Ken prays that together we can make a difference in the community and even in the Synod.
Mary Drotleff became the secretary at Shepherd of the Valley in early 2018. She was born into the Lutheran faith, and worshiped in a very small Lutheran church, North Industry Lutheran Church. That church became the current Peace Lutheran in Canton, Ohio. She is married with a son and daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She works with our outreach ministry, Shepherd’s Kitchen, cooking meals that we provide to our shut-ins and the local community. She enjoys watching home improvement shows with her better half, Fred, and applying what they learn to projects around their home. They share their home with their feline daughter, Lucy Mae.
Susan Kaschak has enjoyed being a part of worship and music at SOTV ever since becoming a member in October 2009. She formed the Adult Choir in November 2009 and is proud to serve as the Choir Director. In January 2010 she assumed the role as Chairperson of the Worship and Music Committee. Susan serves as the musician for our worship services. She also enjoys being a part of Shepherd's Kitchen, which prepares and delivers meals to local shut-ins, and the Quilting Group that sews and sends quilts to people around the world through Lutheran World Relief.
