Church office to temporarily close, continuity of operations plan in place

Effective Monday, April 20, our church office will be closing until the beginning of May. The Congregation Council, in conjunction with the Media and Technology Committee, have enacted the following plan to ensure continuity of church operations during the COVID-19 pandemic:

  1. All calls to the church at 330.866.9293 are now being redirected to an e-mail based voicemail system with a message explaining the situation at the church.  All e-mails to info@sotvchurch.com and voicemails to the church office will be forwarded to Jeff Ward, council president, for redirection to the appropriate party for the inquiry.  This protocol has been enacted in the last few hours.
  2. To help streamline all communications, we ask that you help us by doing the following:
    1. If you are in need of pastoral support during these stressful times, please contact Pastor Scott Anderson directly at his personal cell phone (234.410.0347).
    2. If you have an announcement for the congregation, a prayer request, or a question regarding the Shepherdcast that is not related to the content of the sermon, please contact Jacob Schandel at media@sotvchurch.com. Jacob will be posting all anouncements through the church website until Mary returns to the office.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. If you have any questions on the above information, do not hesitate to contact Jacob Schandel at media@sotvchurch.com.

Webmaster’s Note: Please continue to keep all affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in your prayers. While by Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton’s stay-at-home order there is a clear exemption for religious organizations (which you can read about this and more on COVID-19 from the State of Ohio by clicking here), we are making these scheduling decisions at the church voluntarily based partially on guidance from our synod leadership and in an effort to protect not only our member but our community. While we pray for healing as followers of Christ, we know that it falls on us to follow the wisdom that can only be given to us by God to keep ourselves safe, as we heard in past sermons from Pastor Scott. We will have a singular place on our church website where we will post all COVID-19 related schedule changes at the church in addition to where they are posted on their regular channels. To go there now, please click here. While we participate in social distancing, we hope you will consider supporting organizations in our community that help those in need during this crisis, including through volunteerism if you can do so safely and without putting yourself at risk.
